Itchyworms Logo/Identity Design
This is my entry for the Itchyworms logo design contest. They are a Filipino rock band whose music is primarily guitar-driven rock with pronounced 1960s and 1980s pop sensibilities and embellished with two or three-part vocal harmonie.
Process
I started with a various sketches creating monograms using IW, different worm illustration and also some guitars. As days, weeks go by, I saw the other entries and most submissions are IW monograms and or has worm with shades as their symbol. I decided to go into different direction by creating a wordmark instead. Since the band and their music as playful and fun. I tried to come up with something that reflects them. I created a versatile wordmark logo. I wanted it to have "worm feel" but not the literal one. I started creating a unique silhouette first and fit the band name inside it. Letters closed to each other are combined to depict the "worm feel".

Final Design
The following is the final design I submitted. I included sample mockups with wordmarks of the band members using the same silhouette as the logo. The judging part is done by the band's manager. I was lucky to have one of the most likes out the hundreds of entries. You can view my IG post here.
